The interview
Ovenbird asks you questions and builds the process as you answer.
The Interview tab has a chat on the left and the draft on the right. Ovenbird asks one to three questions at a time, with options to pick or Other… for your own answer, and updates the draft after each reply ("Updating the draft…").
You can also just type: answer, add detail, or ask for a change ("split the review stage in two", "the owner of stage 3 is the support lead").
Important: Ovenbird never invents owners, tools, channels, time limits or rules. Anything you haven't decided goes to Still to decide and shows as "to decide" in the draft.
The draft
The right side shows the Purpose, Applies to, Starts when and Owner, then each stage with its owner, steps, Done when and exceptions ("If … → …"), and what's Out of scope.
Click Edit to change anything directly: process fields, stages (add, reorder with ↑ ↓, remove), steps (one per line), done-when, exceptions and the open questions. Click Save changes when done.
Quality checks
The status line shows "N to fix · N to check" or "✓ Ready to publish". Click it to see each item:
- must fix (blocks publishing): no name, a "When it applies" that's too short, fewer than two stages, a stage with no owner or no done-when.
- check: no trigger ("Starts when"), no process owner, more than 8 stages, stages with no steps, open questions, or overlap with another process.
- tip: vague words like "asap", "someone" or "tbd", and no out of scope.
Fix them in Edit, or tell the interviewer.
Try it before publishing
Try it lets you describe a realistic case and see what a next step would answer using only this draft, including the questions it would ask first.
