Use the answer
Done, Explain how, I did something else and This is wrong, and what each one does.
Under each next step you have four buttons. Only the newest answer in a conversation has them.
Done ✓
You did the step. Ovenbird records it, reads the item again and gives you the following step. It confirms what you completed: "✓ Got it. That completes…" or, if something is still missing, "◐ Got it, but … isn't finished yet."
Explain how
Opens the detail, without waiting:
- 📘 What the process says: the exact quote from your document, with a link to its section.
- 🛠 How to do it: numbered steps, and what's still needed or missing.
- 🧭 Why this step: where the item is, what was decided (by whom, when), and so what's next. If the item's context overrides the document, it says "⚠ Differs from the documented process" and why.
- 🔎 Evidence: quotes from the ticket, comments, Slack or call notes, each with a source chip.
- 💬 Conversations and 🕒 Timeline: the ticket thread, Jira comments and Slack threads, with the ones used in the answer marked "cited".
- Note for the ticket: a short internal note recording what was done, with a Copy button. Paste it into the ticket yourself.
- The process document and its owner, and a Confidence level (low, medium or high) with the reason.
I did something else…
Tell Ovenbird what you actually did, for example "Called Laura; she ran the rebuild and the report totals are right now". It reads the item again with your update and gives you the next step from there.
This is wrong
Something in the answer doesn't match how your team works? Describe what was wrong and click Send to the owner. It goes to the process owner on the Processes page, with suggested edits to the document. See Review suggested edits.
Source chips
Every claim has a small chip showing where it came from: Ticket, Customer, Agent reply, Private note, Jira issue, Jira comment, Jira history, Slack, Call notes or You reported. Click one to open the source. Quotes are shown only if they appear word for word in the source.
Important: Ovenbird never writes customer messages. When a step is to contact someone, it tells you what the message must achieve or include, and you write it.
